Dynojet tuning

A calibration written from scratch for your vehicle, on our Dynojet, chasing everything the combination will safely make — and no further.

A dyno tune is not a file you download. Plenty of shops paste in a calibration that worked on a similar car and hand it back. Yours starts blank: fuel, spark, cam timing and boost tables built for your exact combination of engine, hardware, fuel and altitude, developed one pull at a time while we watch what the engine is actually doing.

We tune on a Dynojet, the chassis dyno most of the industry standardises on, so the graph you leave with is directly comparable to the numbers everyone else quotes.

We start with a baseline pull so there is a real number to improve on. Then we work through fuel, spark, cam timing, boost control and transmission behavior, verifying each change under load before moving on. The session ends with repeat pulls at full operating temperature to confirm the calibration holds when the engine is hot and unhappy — because that is when it matters.

Questions

Dyno Tuning FAQs

Do I have to buy parts from you to get tuned?

No. We will happily tell you what we would fit and why, but nothing about the tune depends on you buying it from us. Bring whatever combination is already on the vehicle and we will calibrate around it.

How much horsepower will I gain?

It depends entirely on what is already on the vehicle. A stock truck with a mild calibration might pick up a modest, useful amount across the mid-range. A supercharged car with the wrong fuel and timing tables can gain a great deal. We will not promise you a number before we see a baseline — anyone who does is guessing.

Is dyno tuning safe for my engine?

Done properly, it is safer than driving around on a calibration that was never right. We monitor knock, air/fuel ratio and temperatures continuously, and we stop a pull the moment something looks wrong. Engine health and longevity are what decide where a tune stops — the goal is a calibration you can use every day, not the highest possible number for one screenshot.

Do you tune vehicles that are not stock?

Nearly everything that comes through the door is modified. Cam swaps, head work, forced induction, engine swaps, larger injectors, tires and gearing all change what the calibration needs to be — that is the reason to tune in the first place.

What should I do before my appointment?

Fix anything that is already broken. Fresh plugs, healthy fuel delivery, no vacuum or exhaust leaks, no misfires and good oil. A dyno session is for calibration, not repair, and a mechanical fault will end the day early.
